Favorites
Product Launch Animation · Motion Design · Graphic Design
Favorites is a tool designed to solve a simple but increasingly common problem: we’re good at discovering things, but not so good at finding them again.
I created a 2D animated product film to introduce Favorite and demonstrate how the platform turns saved content into something genuinely useful. Using UI animation, screen transitions and graphic design, the film takes viewers through the product experience while showing how users can save, organise and retrieve the things they care about.
INSIGHT
The key insight was that the value of Favorite isn't in helping people discover more, it's in helping them make use of what they've already discovered.
People constantly save recipes, restaurants, products, articles, books and places, but those discoveries often disappear into bookmarks, browser tabs or scattered collections.
The animation therefore focuses on the journey from saving → organising → asking → finding, showing how Favorite turns a collection of saved content into something searchable and useful.
CONCEPT
From saving to finding.
I structured the animation around the user's interaction with the product, allowing the interface to guide the story.
Rather than explaining Favorite through lots of narration or abstract visuals, the animation demonstrates its functionality through a series of familiar digital interactions. This makes the product easy to understand while giving viewers a sense of what using it actually feels like.
CHALLENGE
The challenge was to communicate a relatively new product and its functionality quickly, without overwhelming the viewer with information.
Rather than relying on a traditional explainer format, the animation needed to make the product itself the hero. It had to clearly demonstrate how Favorite works while keeping the experience feeling intuitive, simple and engaging.
The film also needed to work as a launch piece, meaning it had to capture attention quickly while giving potential users enough context to understand why they would want to use the tool.
VISUAL LANGUAGE
The visual language is clean, digital and UI-led, designed to keep the focus on the product while adding enough movement and personality to make the film engaging. I used:
2D UI animation to demonstrate the product in action
Screen transitions and scrolling to create a continuous journey through the platform
Typography and graphic elements to reinforce key messages
Interface interactions to make the functionality feel intuitive
Motion-led pacing to move between different use cases and features
Layered compositions to prevent the interface from feeling static
The result is a product film that sits somewhere between a UX walkthrough and a brand animation, using motion to make the functionality immediately understandable while giving Favorite a distinct visual personality.
